ADAKLU MP, KWAME AGBODZA FROWNS AT PMC CONSTRUCTIONS FOR SNAIL PACE OF WORK

The Member of Parliament for Adaklu Constituency Hon Kwame Agbodza has expressed dissatisfaction with PMC constructions, one of the contractors executing the Adaklu –Sogakope road project for being dormant on site.
The Member of Parliament who was visibly angry at the pace of work on the portion of the road awarded to PMC constructions said out of the three contractors awarded, PMC constructions seems to be working at a snail pace even after the president has charged all the contractors to increase the pace of work. Hon Kwame Agbodza said the community is not happy with the performance of the contractor because he is always giving unnecessary excuses and hardly seen on site.  He said he has reported the issue to the Ghana highways authority for necessary actions to be taken against this contractor.
The highway has become the preferred route for most drivers from the Central and Northern sectors of the Volta Region to Accra instead of the ferry crossing at Senchi following the closure of the Adomi Bridge at Atimpoku for major repair works. The 30 kilometre stretched road has been awarded to Ussuya Ghana ,Jah Nicorp and the PMC constructions.
Work on portions of that highway had been at a standstill for some time evoking agitations from the chiefs and people of the region. This compelled the president to pay an announcement visit to the site to ascertain the state of the road. President Dramani’s visit in June this year sought to get the contractors to resume work thus a 31st December deadline was given to the contractors to complete their project.
