As cemeteries in Ho
are being overstretched and exhausted far beyond their limits, the Adaklu
District Assembly has decided to take advantage of the inadequate space of
burial in the Ho Municipality to allocate a plot of land at a vantage point to
charge bereaved families in Ho who might want to bury their love ones on the
land.
This according to
the district chief executive Hon Emmanuel Sky Ganaku is one of the many
innovative ways the assembly is employing to generate enough revenue.
He said the fees depending on whether the dead is an adult or a child might cost a maximum of GHC5000.

The Chief Executive
also disclosed that plans were far advanced to improve the tourism potentials
of district. He said a rock- painting plan would be executed on the Adaklu Mountains
to make it an ideal site for tourist attraction.
The chief executive disclosed this at a General
Assembly Meeting held in the district Assembly hall. The district which was carved out of
the then Adaklu Anyigbe District in 2012, has over the years been recording low
revenue. This year for instance, the mid-year revenue collected amounts to GHC
66,474.80 representing 67% of a target of GHC 101,237.97.
Hon
Emmanuel Sky Ganaku is therefore optimistic that their new strategies would
yield good results in the coming years.
