What am about saying is an unedited thoughts from my mind which I pray
readers would help me achieve my goal of pouring these out.
Anyone who happens to be a member of 1998 and downward years
batch of students can’t forget how he skillfully scribbles on paper using ink just
to express his/her feelings or request. undoubtedly they would say things have changed and it’s
true. So I ask what is new? Join me analyst these two letters I wrote to my two
lovers, Ama and sewaa in 1971 and 1999
respectively.
FROM ME TO YOU AMA
Add love to love,
Subtract hatred,
Product it with kisses.
Date this promise.
Hello my sweet apple,
I always want to see you every second, minute, hour, day, week,
month and every year. i always ask why is
my dear love so precious as gold?
Ama ,I want to tell you once again that mountains may break,
earth may turn but our love will never break. As pepper is tasteless without
salt, so is life cheerless without you.
With you by my side, I know we can make our lovely tea from
the sugar mountains across the milky sea and through the coffee island. I love
you more than harmattan pawpaw. You are the only mosquito in my bed net please
bite me!
May my love for you increase like fuel prices in Ghana your
sorrows drop like cedi value and our relationship last like corruption in Nigeria………….
LETTER TO MY BLIND
DATE SEWAA
In
my hall
Comment ca va ma Cherie?
Can’t believe this is the angel I have been talking to all
these while on phone.
When I first saw you I was in awe, when I looked into your
eyes I was lost. My eyes fixed cos I had already seen too much. When I heard
your voice say hi, I began to have a warm flooded sense of numbness, causing my
entire being to go weak for weeks.
I tried to analyze your architectural detail but was lost at
sea, the creator indeed had himself structured it beyond comprehension and I would
be glad if you could make me the general overseer of this edifice…………..
Now can someone tell me which of these two letters has old
or new lyrics exhibited in it?
Well sometimes you can’t imagine what talent one has got by
naturally weaving letters into words and words into sentences just as the good
weaver of the shirt you are wearing.
Back to my earlier
question; is there anything new in the universe anyway?
Solomon, long time in the bible, said that there is nothing
new under this sun. Whatever you can say
or write is only combination of the letters of the alphabet that we all know
and combination of words which already exist.
What is new is not necessarily what is said or written but
how it is said, when and why it is said to wit the circumstances of it.
