Students
in Volta region can now enroll to diploma, degree, masters and PHD programs offered
by global universities through EP University College (EPUC) in Ho.
This
followed the establishment of an e-learning Centre on EPUC campus by ICT
University of USA to connect students to universities across the globe.
The
virtual platform is a data warehouse connected to the world platform for the
purpose of teaching, learning and research. This would as well expose students
and lecturers of EPUC to the array of opportunities beyond their campuses.
As
part of the memorandum of understanding an e-library stocked with a million
electronic books covering various academic disciplines would be installed on
the campus where students and lecturers can access with their smartphones and
other electronic gadgets.
Speaking
at the commissioning of the facility Professor Victor W.A. Mbarika, President
of Board of Trustees ICT University said the objective of the collaboration was
to make higher education accessible and affordable to all kinds of students. He
said courses run by the ICT University USA would be available to the local students
at between 1,000 and 2,000 dollars on flexible terms.
The
president of EPUC Dr Cyril Faryose who was grateful for the gesture said the
collaboration would open more doors of opportunity to students and lecturers of
EPUC.
