The District Chief Executive of Akatsi North James Gunu has
hinted an imminent bye law to prevent children in the district from late night
loitering and funeral attendance.
According to the District Chief Executive, the situation
where children are seen loitering and prowling late in the night at expense of
their studies derails academic performance in the district.
He revealed that in a bid to improve academic performance in the district, the assembly is considering enacting a bylaw to reduce the tendency among children to attend funerals and late night events.

The promulgation of the bylaw according to Mr James Gunu
would be among the essential decrees to be effected when the new assembly comes
into session.
“We are considering enacting a bye-law to ensure that children
do not spending too much time deep into the night during funerals and wake
keepings. So if the new assembly comes into force, we are going to ensure that
pupils are prevented from attending such programs deep into the night.” he
said.
The District Chief Executive disclosed this on
the sideline of presentation of books and stationery by the 2013 first runner
up of Tv3’s Ghana Most Beautiful Pageantry Miss Juliet Bubune Titiati to Pupils
of Ave Dakpa RC Primary School.
