PARAMOUNT CHIEF CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO EJECT RETIREES OCCUPYING WORKERS RESIDENCE

The paramount chief of Kpeve Newtown Togbe Aku Dompey XI  in the South Dayi District of the Volta region has voiced his concern over the continuous stay of some retired and former workers of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture at the residential quarters of the Kpeve Agiculture station, depriving  deserving workers of their accommodation.

According to the chief the illegal occupation of these workers is posing challenges to the existing employees who would have to walk several kilometres to their offices even after having gone through hectic times securing unbefitting accommodation.

He described it as unfair the continuous enjoyment of the residential facilities by these workers at the expense of the deserving workers and called on the Ministry Of Food And Agriculture as well as the South Dayi District Assembly to help vacate the retirees.

‘’’The residential quarters of the workers is still being illegally occupied by some former workers who retired some two, four, five years  ago while deserving workers of the research station, deprived of good accommodation.  The district assembly should be empowered to eject those occupying the quarters illegally or the Ministry Of Food and Agriculture does something immediately.’’

The chief who also grateful to government for taking steps to revamp the kpeve Agriculture Research station; a once viable research station pledged his commitment for the full completion of the project.
