NPP LAUNCHES SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN



The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,  yesterday Sunday, 16th September, 2012, officially launched  his internet-based campaign at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT.
Nana Akufo-Addo , at the event, introduced the general public to his social media networks, i.e. his official Facebook page, Twitter and Youtube accounts, and his official website.
About five regional branches of the NPP youth wings were also connected online to partake live on the event. They were Volta, Central,Northern,Brong Ahafo ,Western And Greater Accra regions.
Nana  Akufo-Addo advised the youth to  use social networks to share knowledge and ideas in career development.  He assured the youth of his campaign pledge of empowering them and of his free SHS education policy.
The Volta regional youth also took part in this event inside Hotel Stephen’s  Conference Room ,Ho.
The NPP flagbearer, undertook a live question and answer session, with his followers on Facebook and Twitter. The Volta regional wing complained of the inability of the region to benefit from any industrial transformation since independence and ask of steps being taken by the presidential candidate in addressing this issue when it was their turn to ask questions. In response, Nana Akufo Addo promised the people of Volta region of handling this situation by investing in the agriculture sector

In attendance were other leaders of the New Patriotic Party including Samira Bawumia, wife of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe, Adwoa Sarfo, Yaw Buaben Asamoah and some youth groups.
Samira Bawumia, in her speech encouraged the youth to develop interest in politics. In conclusion she said she trusted Nana Akufo Addo so the youth should also trust him and his good policies.
